Our
Story

First, I have to tell you about my husband, Jonah. He was generous, caring, and had a laugh that sparked joy. He always went above and beyond for his social work clients. He could never remember where he put his keys, but could tell you who won the Oscar for Best Director in 1983 (Richard Attenborough for Gandhi).

Jonah died suddenly on October 11, 2025, and I was adrift.

I turned to crochet, at first just to give my hands something to do. Crochet helped my brain stay quiet and stop the existential spirals. It became very centering and meditative as I began the grief and healing journey.

The name, Simon Says Stitch, is inspired by our wedding hashtag, #SimonSaysIDo.

I enjoy creating beautiful pieces, and pieces that make people exclaim with delight. I love color and texture and fun patterns. I hope my pieces bring you a bit of comfort as they do me.
